Customs authority destroys prohibited medicines at Mandali border crossing

dijlahpoint - The General Authority for Customs announced on Tuesday (September 15, 2026) the destruction of a quantity of medicines prohibited from entering the country at the Mandali border customs center, after completing the legal and technical procedures related to them. In an official statement, the authority said the destruction was carried out by a joint committee that included the health center, the Mandali customs center, the National Intelligence Service office, the National Security office, the port's licensing and intelligence department, the investigation department, and the customs police. The authority affirmed that these measures come within its ongoing efforts to tighten control and inspection of materials entering through border crossings and to prevent the entry of materials violating regulations and instructions, especially medicines and medical materials not permitted for import, thereby contributing to protecting society and enhancing health security.
