In an official statement, the ministry said the transfer covered 49 Iranian citizens who were serving prison sentences in Iraq, noting that they will complete their sentences inside Iranian prisons after crossing the Mehran border. The statement added that the move comes within the framework of implementing the joint security and judicial agreements between Baghdad and Tehran concerning the exchange and transfer of convicts between the two countries.
