dijlahpoint - The Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court issued severe imprisonment sentences against a former female parliamentarian and a former general director of a health directorate, following their involvement in cases of public office exploitation and illicit enrichment.
Judicial authorities clarified that the court sentenced the female convict to two years in prison and the other convict to five years, due to their unlawful intervention in awarding and disbursing contracts and works belonging to the North Refineries Company to entities and individuals linked to them for personal financial gain.
These decisions came after completing investigations and reviewing sufficient legal evidence for conviction, based on legal provisions governing corruption and public funds damage, while obligating them to restitute the funds.
