Iraq Chosen as Deputy Head of OIC Anti-Corruption Meeting and Baghdad to Host its Fourth Session

dijlahpoint - Iraq, represented by the Head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Dr. Mohammed Ali Al-Lami, participated in the third meeting of the heads of anti-corruption law enforcement agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held in Baku, where Iraq was chosen as deputy head of the meeting and Baghdad's hosting of the fourth ministerial meeting in 2028 was approved.

Al-Lami stressed in Iraq's speech during the meeting that the responsibility in facing corruption doubles the moral and legal duty, considering corruption a scourge that rivals drugs and terrorism in disrupting development, praising the importance of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Convention in accelerating information exchange, pursuing wanted persons, and recovering looted funds.

Al-Lami reviewed Iraq's initiative to establish funds for managing recovered assets to direct them towards service projects, concluding multiple international memorandums of understanding, and the efforts of the Iraqi Anti-Corruption Academy in capacity building and exchanging regional and international expertise.
