dijlahpoint - Representative Mohammed Jassim Al-Khafaji directed an official letter to the Prime Minister demanding the cancellation and clearing of traffic fines amounts accumulated on citizens.
The request came based on the provisions of the constitution and the financial administration law, indicating that the continued application of modern traffic monitoring devices caused large and doubled fines on citizens, resulting from shortcomings in awareness mechanisms, early warning, and formal guidance.
Al-Khafaji demanded approval to waive those fines, emphasizing that the primary goal of traffic penalties is to achieve general deterrence and preserve citizens' lives rather than material collection.
